An agreement to join the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia was signed at the forum "Technological Leadership: Business, Science, and Government," held in Moscow on November 8.

According to Alexander Avdeev, the governor of Vladimir Region, one of the region's priorities is the implementation of innovative projects across various sectors of the economy to strengthen the country's technological sovereignty. With significant scientific and technical potential, Vladimir Region initiated its entry into the Association. "The share of high-tech and science-intensive industries in the gross regional product exceeds the national average and stands at 19.7% (the national average is 18.5%). We are developing pharmaceuticals, electronics, mechatronics, precision engineering, and other advanced industries. In terms of internal research and development expenditures, we rank eighth in the Central Federal District. We intend to continue developing in this direction, and for that, constant experience exchange and close cooperation with other innovation-oriented regions are necessary," said Governor Alexander Avdeev.

"The Association welcomes one of the most actively developing regions in central Russia, which has established itself in mechanical engineering and instrumentation and is actively implementing new technologies not only in production but also in territorial development and urban planning. One promising project in this direction is the city of Dobrograd, which is being developed alongside a special economic zone and serves as a prototype for a new generation of cities. The region is forming its own innovation base in industry, economy, and social sphere, largely supported by the proactive stance of the governor. The desire to implement new approaches and technologies is a hallmark of all members of the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia," commented Alexander Smekalin, director of AIRR.

Currently, the Association unites 19 regions of the Russian Federation with strong innovative potential. For 14 years, AIRR has consolidated best practices, assisting in their promotion and replication while serving as a platform for effective interaction among regions leading technological development in the country. These regions account for more than a quarter of Russia's GDP and over a third of all innovative products. The Association supports initiatives aimed at promoting projects in infrastructure, scientific and technical fields, innovation, and education that develop participating regions.
The forum "Technological Leadership: Business, Science, and Government" brought together government officials, public figures, business community representatives, and teams focused on developing Russian regions. The event was organized by the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia and "Business Russia."
